What a week!! We were so busy skiing, boarding and eating that we had no time for blogging!! After a massive travel day we made it to our favourite Japanese 'home' - Hotel Mominoki. Our room was awesome as usual and the party bus was still going - it even picked us up from the bus terminal when we arrived!
I did two days of snowboard lessons and I was on my own again for most of it so I learnt heaps and can do some cool tricks! My instructor said that if I have another lesson I would be in Level 5 (expert)! We went to Goryu for a day and got to muck around in the terrain park. Daddy wouldn't let me try the big jump (something about it being ok for a motocross jump but waaaaaay to big for me to do on a snowboard) but I got to have a go at the box and some of the smaller rails and jumps - it was so good!! Mum and Dad went to Cortina for a day and I stayed with the Kitto's at Sakka. Em had a lesson in the morning so I hung out with Suze, Jason and Caitlin. We did some moguls on the black run and a couple of red runs then we went through the trees. After Em finished, we spent some time mucking around doing jumps and going through the trees again. Our last day at Hakuba was epic..... Mum finally came to the dark side! Yep, she got a snowboard for the day!!! I helped her in the morning and tried to teach her how to turn - it was hard work! Daddy helped her for a while so I could practice my 360 jumps. She fell over A LOT, but she didn't give up and she even got on the chairlift a couple of times after lunch - not bad for her first day! She's not sure if she'll do it again though.... I spent most of the day trying to land a 360 jump - I did one REALLY good one and lots where I pretty much landed, but fell over. I say they still count but mum and dad reckon not!

We arrived in Niseko on Tuesday night and it had just started snowing for the first time in over two weeks... It snowed all night and we had an epic powder day on Wednesday at Hanazono308 - well, Mum and Dad did. I just didn't want to ski anymore so after one run I went in and swapped my ski's for a snowboard! I spent the rest of the day learning how to snowboard. Dad gave me a few pointers to get me going, then he and mum went off and I stayed at the magic carpet figuring out how to stand up and link my turns. I didn't do too bad - I could do a couple of turns by the end of the day. We went in to Hirafu for dinner at an Izakaya place called Enishi and it was really yummy!!
This morning was another crazy powder day and the top of the mountain was closed because it's so windy. Mum agreed to let me do a lesson today so I went off to that and Mum and Dad rode the powder!! Mum has some fat ski's and has started doing some little tree runs and a black powder run. She had a massive stack, but there was so much snow around that she didn't hurt herself - it just took her a while to dig herself out!!! My lesson was awesome! I am so much better at my turns and I learnt some tricks - a nose manual, a normal manual, a 180, an ollie and a bunny-hop! Because it was too windy in the morning for the chairlift we got towed up the hill in a snow-raft and skidoo - it was awesome!!! The wind died down in the afternoon so I got to do two runs on the chairlift. I came down Silver Dream which is a green run. I started in level 2 and I am ready for level 3 next time I have a lesson. I think I did pretty awesome at learning how to snowboard! Monday was super windy and cold. The Gondola at Kitanomine side was closed, so we took Caitlin and Emily up to the red run for a practice and then made our way over to Furano side of the mountain. I made mum and dad do some mogul runs and I totally smoked them!! At least mum made it down this time without crashing :-) Unfortunately it was too cold and windy for photo's though...
We did a couple of runs on the covered chairlift (it was SO nice and warm out of the wind!) and then went up on the Ropeway to make our way back over to Kitanomine side for lunch. We were all too cold and tired to go back out after lunch so we had an early finish and went back to our hotel for an Onsen. Tomorrow we head to Niesko and we are staying over at Hanazono308 where Mum said there is a terrain park right near us so I can't wait!! We have had awesome weather in Furano... Would not have complained if some more snow had fallen, but it's been fun skiing on groomed runs all week. I spent yesterday with Mum, Caitlin and Emily on the green runs and we were practising parallel turns so that Caitlin and Emily can go right to the top of the mountain today. I was looking for little jumps everywhere and practicing my super fast skiing!
We had a rest day on Saturday and we walked into the town of Furano for a look around. We found a little hill and did some butt sliding We made it to Furano on Tuesday after the longest plane trips ever! It took 3 planes and a bus to get here but it was worth it,,,
There is snow everywhere - even the airport at Sapporo was covered in snow! Our hotel is pretty good; it's not too far from the gondola and they have grape Fanta in the vending machines so I'm happy! The Kitto's arrived on the same day as us and they are staying in the room next door. I have had two days skiing with Mum and Dad and I'm doing pretty good - Mum is still faster than me, except when she got tired and then I smoked her!! Dad has already fallen off the side of a cliff, but he wasn't going very fast, so he didn't slide too far. Last night Caitlin, Emily and I took our 'butt-sliders' with us when we went for dinner and we had a LOT of fun sliding down the hotel driveway!! It was too dark to get good photo's and we had to keep dodging the cars on the road so we're going to take them to the magic carpet today and have another go. So.... a few years ago on my first trip to Japan my mum had this idea that since we were traveling in school time, for my homework I should keep a travel journal 😳. It sucked!! I hated writing in that thing every day. AND then when we got home she wanted me to take it to school and show it to the class. Somehow it got lost (I really have no idea how) and so last trip she got me a new one 🙄 and made me start this blog for homework. THIS year we are not traveling in school time so I thought I was free, right? No. Guess what my mum found at Christmas... Apparently I will appreciate it when I'm older - can't wait 😩
